Information Governance and Records (IGR) Practice Support Specialist

A leading law firm is seeking an Information Governance and Records (IGR) Specialist for its Palo Alto, CA office. Reporting to the IGR Practice Support Manager, this role supports the firm’s information governance and records management program by helping attorneys and business professionals manage physical and electronic information securely and in compliance with firm policy. Responsibilities include onboarding and training support, classifying and auditing records, coordinating file circulation and retention, and supporting off-boarding and matter close-out activities. The specialist also maintains onsite storage and workspaces, leads projects such as destruction, transfers, and office moves, and trains practice group staff on filing procedures and the firm’s records and document management systems. The role requires close collaboration with IGR leadership, business units, and vendors, along with strong communication and organizational skills to manage competing priorities under deadline pressure.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (or comparable legal-environment experience), three or more years of related experience, and hands-on experience with records/document management systems, ideally iManage Work and iManage Records Manager. This is a hybrid role (four days in office, one remote) with periodic travel to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Denver. Salary range is $68,000$85,000.
