A leading law firm is seeking a National Security Paralegal for its Washington, D.C. office. This role supports attorneys across a broad range of national security matters, including economic sanctions, foreign direct investment, foreign influence, export controls, and cybersecurity. The paralegal will draft articles, alerts, and other thought leadership on these topics, and will produce and distribute a weekly news bulletin covering sanctions, export controls, critical technologies, cybersecurity, CFIUS, and FARA developments. Additional responsibilities include assisting with CFIUS filings and related research, and helping track and file OFAC license applications. The role also involves general research, file and database management, and administrative support such as timely time entry and timecard submission, along with other paralegal tasks as directed.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and has about two years of relevant experience or comparable work experience. Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills are essential, along with excellent writing and communication abilities, high attention to detail, and the flexibility to manage multiple projects under general supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, and some overtime and travel flexibility may be needed.

Washington, D.C. salary range: $76,000 to $106,000.
