Intellectual Property Billing Analyst

A leading law firm is seeking an IP Billing Analyst for its Washington, DC office. This hourly, non-exempt role supports the firm’s billing operations by preparing and distributing proformas and final invoices for assigned attorneys, while providing responsive billing support to attorneys, clients, and internal teams.

The role has a strong IP billing focus, coordinating On-Demand/Project Prosecution billing for U.S. and foreign patent and trademark matters, applying prosecution knowledge to ensure time, fees, costs, and credits are properly reconciled, and partnering with IP teams to complete billing accurately and within month-end deadlines. Additional responsibilities include auditing and distributing proformas per client Outside Counsel Guidelines, researching and correcting billing issues (transfers, credits, discounts, adjustments), maintaining billing data and rate information, and coordinating e-billing setup, submissions, and disputed-invoice resolution with the E-Billing Specialist and third-party support.

Candidates should have a BA in accounting, business, or a related field; at least 7 years of legal billing experience, including 5 years of legal IP billing focused on On-Demand/Project Prosecution billing; and at least 5 years of law firm billing software experience, including 3 years with Elite Enterprise or 3E. E-billing experience is required, and EbillingHub experience is preferred.

The anticipated base salary range for this role in Washington, DC is $93,000–$128,000.
